WE LOVE BUHI INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Are you interested in working directly and closely with our We Love BuHi's Founder and Executive Director to have immediate and substantial impact in one of Atlanta's most fascinating communities?

We Love BuHi is a startup nonprofit organization with the mission of strengthening Atlanta's famed multicultural corridor - Buford Highway. We work closely with Buford Highway community stakeholders, including nonprofit organizations, residents and neighborhood organizations, local governments and city staff, and business owners to build a stronger community and sense of place. We also partner with Atlanta-area nonprofits and social enterprises to craft innovative events, initiatives, and solutions to address Buford Highway's greatest challenges and opportunities.

Interns may work on programming, events, business development, design, communications, and more. We are looking for interns for the teams listed.


Membership and Programs (2-3) (10 hours weekly)

  • Manage membership (individual, business, and sponsor) and volunteer databases and mailing lists
  • Manager membership relationships and communications (e.g., mail membership packages, send thank-you notes and donor acknowledgment letters, field membership inquiries)
  • Maintain inventory of goods and supplies
  • Manage calendar of tours and logistics

 

Marketing and communications/social media interns (3-5) (10 hours weekly)

  • Create and manage calendar of We Love BuHi events and international holiday and festival events
  • Create and update graphic design for events (e.g., posters, flyers, and templates)
  • Create and manage social medial calendar in accordance with organizational communications plan
  • Compile social media account weekly reports (chart growth, statistics, and analysis)
  • Author social media posts
  • Lead special group events
  • Attend and document events with photography and video

 

Community engagement interns (2-3) (10 hours weekly)

  • Maintain communications with local government and other community organizations
  • Maintain community calendar of quarterly We Love BuHi meetings with community stakeholders, external meetings, and public events hosted by cities and otherorganizations
  • Track City Council agendas for Buford Highway news and developments
  • Attend local community events and represent We Love BuHi
  • Event set up and breakdown
  • Manage volunteer coordination
